Kenny grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was an avid sportsman and multi-sport athlete. During high school he excelled in wrestling and football which helped earn him an athletic scholarship to Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. It was at Evangel where he met the love of his life, Rebecca Nichols.
Shortly after graduation Kenny and Rebecca were married and started their life together in New Orleans. After a few years in New Orleans they moved to Apex, North Carolina where their two children Kolby and Katelin were born, and after six years in North Carolina they moved to Franklin, Tennessee where they still reside.
Currently Kenny serves as the Executive Director of the Downtown Nashville YMCA. He is in his ninth year with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee Association having served in six different positions during his tenure. He has over 20 years experience in the nonprofit industry holding positions in education, youth ministry, inner-city outreach, high school and college athletics, foundation work, and the YMCA.
Kenny has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation and he is also a licensed minister. His wife Rebecca is a New York Times Best Selling Author for her autobiography; The Devil in Pew Number Seven. Together they enjoy ministering on the power of forgiveness and reconciliation.
