Amy Eskind is a freelance writer, avid biker, and enjoys boating, scuba and snow skiing. Eskind graduated from Duke University with a degree in political science, and completed coursework at MTSU in nutrition. She has been a reporter for People and LIFE magazines, was send to Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War to cover female soldiers, and wrote op-ed pieces in several major newspapers. She worked for the Nashville Civic Design Center's Shaping Community Healthy Communities project, wrote an original screenplay, and has recent blogs in the Huffington Post. She works on Catch Weekly, a sport digest for people not interested in sports, and she will be working on the new Nashville Banner online newspaper. She sits on the board of the Mayor's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the board of Walk/Bike Nashville. Eskind lives in Nashville and is the mother of three children.
