Aaron Campbell currently serves as Director of Public Policy for Nashville CARES. In this role, he manages the Tennessee AIDS Advocacy Network, Tennessee’s only statewide HIV public policy initiative. Aaron is originally from Knoxville, but moved Nashville to attend Lipscomb University in 1999. After receiving his degree in Social Work from MTSU, Aaron began working for Governor Phil Bredesen as Legislative Liaison at the Bureau of TennCare and the Department of Mental Health. He also served as Legislative Director for the Department of Children’s Services for several years before transitioning to work in non-profits. In 2011, Aaron was chosen to participate in Nashville Emerging Leaders, and began a two-year term on the board of Nashville Pride.
In his free time, Aaron enjoys home remodeling, design and rummaging through great antique stores. He is an avid Dolly Parton fan, and enjoys travel and spending time with friends. He and his partner James live in Donelson with their boxer dog Lizzie.
