It takes more resources to initiate than it does to sustain...every step in civilization is another notch in controlling and retarding nature...what one is not looking for, one will not see...law of increasing returns...very easy to arrive at a stable environment, if you don't care what system you arrive at...a positive loop of increasing good...assembled over time.
